About the role

This role provides strategic leadership of Primary ITO's product portfolio, ensuring programmes and learning products are designed to meet the needs of learners, employers, industry and the organisation.

The role leads programme and product development activities, ensuring products are educationally sound, customer-focused, innovative and fit for purpose. Through strong leadership and effective product management practices, the Product Development Manager supports the development of engaging learning experiences that contribute to learner success and organisational objectives

Tasks and responsibilities include: 

• Leading a team of 8 staff
  

• Leading the strategic direction of Primary ITO's product portfolio, ensuring products align with organisational priorities, customer needs, industry requirements and future workforce capability needs. This includes maintaining oversight of the product lifecycle, ensuring products remain relevant, fit for purpose, commercially viable and aligned with customer, industry and organisational needs.
  

• Leading the design and development of programmes, learning products and supporting resources that meet learner, employer, industry and organisational needs. 
  

• Ensuring learner, employer, industry and stakeholder perspectives are appropriately captured and considered throughout product development activities. 

This is a permanent, full-time role (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) with an ideal based location in Auckland based from your Home Office, but the location can be flexible within New Zealand for the right candidate.

About You:

Ideally, we are looking for someone with:

• Extensive relevant experience within the tertiary education sector, including strong understanding of TEC and NZQA requirements 
  

• Strong planning, organisational, coordination, and implementation skills.
  

• Highly developed relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated experience successfully leading and managing an operational delivery team.
  

• Proven ability to analyse and interpret information, prepare complex correspondence, and produce comprehensive reports with a strong solutions-focused approach, with the ability to identify opportunities, resolve issues, and achieve positive outcomes.
  

• Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
